My trip to Magnolia Market should have included eating from one of the food trucks that provide for customers at the silos. I couldn’t get close to the cupcakes, crepes or other goodies because of the swarms of hungry folks. It was cold, overcast, overcrowded, and I was overwhelmed. I wanted to get warm so I started walking around the neighborhood looking for a late lunch establishment to provide nourishment.
I found “The Backyard” Bar. Part concert in the park, part sports bar, part college hang out and pretty much honky-tonk with the Waco vibe. This wasn’t the time to count calories, but to ask for a recommendation from my server. I took her advice and ordered her favorite thing on the menu. Spicy marinated chicken strips rolled in crushed Frosted Flakes and deep-fried! With unsweetened tea. Had to save some calories there. Check out the last picture a basket of fried chicken and tater tots. I didn’t make a dent in that basket it was so full of unhealthy goodness.
I would definitely bring my husband back to the silos for some shopping then over to the Backyard to listen to a band and drink a cold one. Can’t wait to visit in warmer weather. Maybe he’ll even ask me to dance?
